Supporting Success

We all occasionally find ourselves overwhelmed by the stresses and frustrations of daily life. For individuals and families living with developmental and behavioral disabilities, these problems can create even greater barriers to happy, fulfilling lives.

To help our clients and community through these times, Damar offers outpatient counseling and behavior management services.

With a team of professionals who work both on our residential campus and in the community, Damar provides services to support a range of needs. Our team includes licensed psychologists, therapists, and behaviorists who work in individual, group, or family settings to help individuals and families overcome challenges and build better lives.

The supportive environment allows our team members to collaborate and coordinate individualized care. Treatment is monitored regularly to ensure progress and includes a team approach for ongoing success.

For adults, these services include:

Counseling provides support to individuals and families, and addresses concerns such as depression, anxiety, behavioral self-control, and other mental health issues.
Damar’s Behavior Management program uses observation, assessment, and positive reinforcement to help support individuals and families. Behavior management allows for assistance in appropriate expression of emotions and desires, assertiveness, socially appropriate behaviors, and engagement in prosocial activities. Damar professionals are members of the Indiana Association of Behavioral Consultants (INABC).

For children and families, these services come in three forms:

Intensive Behavior Intervention is a highly specialized, individualized program of instruction and behavioral intervention based on functional, behavioral, and/or skills assessment of the child’s treatment needs. These services are typically funded by the Indiana Department of Child Services.
Counseling provides support to children and families addressing concerns such as depression, anxiety, behavioral self-control, and other mental health issues. Credentialed Sexually Abusive Youth Clinicians also provide treatment and interventions for maladaptive sexual behavior in youth.
Behavior Management services utilize observation, assessment, and positive reinforcement to help support children and families. Behavior management allows for assistance in the appropriate expression of emotions and desires, assertiveness, socially appropriate behaviors, and the reduction of inappropriate behaviors. Damar professionals are members of the Indiana Association of Behavioral Consultants (INABC).

Outpatient services can be funded through Medicaid, CHOICE, Medicaid waivers, private insurance, employee assistance programs, and self-pay.

While Damar professionals specialize in meeting the needs of people with developmental and behavioral disabilities, they serve all members of the community from locations on the northeast and southwest sides of Indianapolis.
