When her mom passed away in the early 2000s, Misty spiraled into a severe depression. At that time, she did the most courageous thing possible: She asked for help.
Misty went from living on her own to staying in our 24-hour community living program. Over the years, she struggled with roommates and keeping a job, but three years ago, she decided to change. She moved into a new apartment, began working at a nursing home, and got her own transportation to and from her job. Another big change is her focus on her health. Misty began working out daily at the Hendricks Regional Health YMCA in Avon and has lost over 100 pounds.
