Your time is worth more than you think.

Your reasons for giving back are as individual as you are and Damar’s volunteer program lets you create an experience that fits your talents, experiences, personality and lifestyle. Volunteer once a year or several hours a week. Either way, you’ll find meaning in any of the hundreds of individual and group volunteer opportunities available every year at Damar.

Just 15 minutes will do

Even busy people with hectic and unpredictable schedules can support Damar without committing hours to a traditional volunteer schedule.

For example, in just 15 minutes, you can:

  • Join our mailing list and share Damar’s e-news and newsletters with others;
  • Spread the word about Damar’s important mission to your family, friends and colleagues;
  • Promote Damar’s volunteer opportunities at school, work and church; or
  • Ask your employer to support our group volunteer opportunities, donate goods or services, or make a gift.

Just a little more of your time

Even when you can volunteer just a few hours at Damar, that allows enough time to become part of a larger and more coordinated effort or to lead others by rallying volunteer participation among fellow co-workers, students, club members, church members and teammates.

Whether you can share a few hours every week, or just this week, there’s plenty of ways to make a difference at Damar:

  • Repair bicycles on campus
  • Sponsor a special event or fundraiser
  • Join us for a landscaping project
  • Organize a formalwear collection drive for Damar’s prom
  • Donate unwanted inventory or professional services
  • Help us wrap holiday gifts
  • Host a Damar “friendraising” brunch
  • Get your soccer team to host a scrimmage on campus
  • Mentor youth in Damar’s summer golf program

A chance to make a lasting impact

Imagine the positive difference you can make at Damar by dedicating 12 months — or even two years — as a mentor or volunteer team member? By sharing as little as 10 hours each month, you can gain enriching experiences, memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Here’s how:

  • Mentor a child who has little to no contact with family
  • Become a Damar Guild member
  • Serve as an education surrogate
  • Join our Scrapbooking Club or start a new club
  • Be a scout troop leader
  • Coach or play on one of our Special Olympics teams
  • Teach art, cooking or dance
  • Share another skill or talent
