Volunteer Mission & Culture
The mission of Damar volunteers is to build better futures for children and adults through supportive relationships and additional resources.
An hour watering flowers on campus. A Saturday working on a project from home. A year mentoring a deserving child. Regardless of why we volunteer at Damar or the amount of time we give, lending ourselves to help Damar build better futures for deserving children and adults with developmental disabilities is our common purpose. We're a culture of compassionate individuals, corporate volunteers and community groups that believe in paying it forward.
We are keepers of Damar's commitment to excellence. We are everyday people with unique talents and experiences — kindergarteners, college coeds, single dads and retirees. “Damar volunteers make the difference” is truly more than just a catchy motto. It represents the significance of our presence every single day to the staff, clients and families. Volunteering at Damar is a mutually rewarding experience. We are enthusiastic and dedicated. Our gifts of time are met with appreciation and acknowledgement from a worthy mission, and we feel honored to serve.
