Our Students
Students come to Damar Academy primarily from Indiana, but six other states are also represented and students cross all socio-economic lines. The majority of students are admitted to Damar by decision of a special education case conference committee recognizing the school corporation can not meet a student’s educational needs.
Damar Academy students develop self-esteem and a sense of achievement as they master each new skill. In this structured, individualized and nurturing environment, students receive a positive and fulfilling education experience.
Our Faculty
Damar Academy’s professional staff members are licensed by the State of Indiana and have endorsements in special education. When selecting candidates for a teaching position at Damar, three areas are carefully considered: professional preparation, experience working with children, and personality.
All faculty members display an understanding of special needs students, and have an obvious desire to work with such exciting and special youngsters.
