Students and Faculty
Our StudentsStudents come to Damar Academy primarily from Indiana, but six other states are also represented and students cross all socio-economic lines. The majority of students are admitted to Damar by decision of a special education case conference committee recognizing the school corporation can not meet a student’s educational needs.Damar Academy students develop self-esteem and a sense of achievement as they master each new skill. In this structured, individualized and nurturing environment, students receive a positive and fulfilling education experience.
Our FacultyDamar Academy’s professional staff members are licensed by the State of Indiana and have endorsements in special education. When selecting candidates for a teaching position at Damar, three areas are carefully considered: professional preparation, experience working with children, and personality.All faculty members display an understanding of special needs students, and have an obvious desire to work with such exciting and special youngsters. |
