We support our adult clients in realizing their own dreams.

Through residential options that give clients freedom of choice, life skills training, employment support and other innovative services, Damar helps hundreds of adults with developmental disabilities to realize their long-term potential, fulfill their personal dreams and live more meaningful lives.

Through our Community Living and Support Services (CLASS) program, Damar provides a dynamic continuum of individualized and life-enhancing services to those who choose to live as independently as possible in communities across central Indiana — either in a family home setting, with roommates, or in their own homes or apartments.

Using Individualized Support Plans, our team of professionals works to discover the individual strengths and talents of adults. We work collaboratively with our clients, their families and other service agencies to empower those we serve to achieve success and personal independence.

CLASS provides assistance with:

  • Selecting and moving into a home
  • Choosing care providers and housemates
  • Acquiring household furnishings
  • Daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and recreation
  • Transportation
  • Health care management
  • Accessing community resources and activities
  • Financial management
  • Accessing work or vocational training
  • CHOICE (Community and Home Options to Institutional Care for the Elderly and Disabled) is a state funding source that can provide in-home supportive services for people of all ages living with disabilities. Funds can be used to access attendant care, respite and homemaker services.

These services exercise meaningful choice and control in their daily lives, including where and with whom to live.

Damar’s CLASS program is designed to foster each individuals' nurturing relationships, full membership in the community, and work toward their long-range personal goals.

Because these may be life-long concerns, CLASS is offered for as long and as often as needed, with the flexibility required to meet a person’s changing needs over time. CLASS works with the individual to establish and maintain a safe, stable and independent life.
