DAMAR Firsts
- Opened Indiana’s first group home, the Elizabeth R. Frink Residence, opened on January 1, 1983.
- Creation of the BASE program, Indiana’s first program model for serving children with developmental disabilities and emotional challenges reflected from previous situations of abuse and neglect.
- Opened Indiana’s first outpatient behavioral and mental heath clinic exclusively for individuals with developmental disabilities in 2003.
- Co-founded Indiana’s first and only credentialing training program for practitioners treating youth with sexually maladaptive behaviors in 2004.
Research
Through the DAMAR Best initiative, the organization researches, implements and exports best treatment practices throughout the disabilities industry.
