The BKD Foundation gives $10,000 to Damar Services, Inc.

Robert J. Pruitt, managing partner of BKD, LLP’s Indianapolis and Bloomington offices, announces the BKD Foundation is contributing $10,000 to start the BKD Dream Fund for Damar Services, Inc., an organization designed to build better futures for children and adults facing developmental and behavioral challenges.

The BKD Foundation enriches local communities with financial support and the gift of time from BKD volunteers. Whenever possible, the Foundation strives to support local charitable organizations that also involve their own personnel.

“Damar is very pleased to partner with BKD in creating the BKD Dream Fund to help us realize some very special goals for the children, adults and families we serve. BKD has been an important business and philanthropic partner for Damar and this generous gift is another example of the culture of caring for our community that exists at BKD,” said Greg Johnson, president and CEO, Damar Services, Inc. The BKD Dream Fund allows Damar clients and their families to make requests to the fund to fulfill a “dream.”

While developmental disabilities cross socioeconomic boundaries, many of the clients Damar serves come from families living below the poverty line. More than half of the kids on their campus are victims of past abuse and neglect and have never had the opportunity to see their dreams through to reality.
