Damar Services residents greet Mickey and Minnie Mouse during red carpet arrival at Conseco Fieldhouse

Event producer Feld Entertainment selected the children at Damar to be special guests during the pre-opening night event and provided each child with a pair of collector edition Mickey Mouse ears. To enhance the experience, Feld also provided complimentary tickets, enabling 150 Damar clients and staff to attend the show’s opening night performance.

Mickey and Minnie arrived by horse-drawn carriage to the steps of Conseco Fieldhouse where the children welcomed the stars in paparazzi fashion and followed along as they made their way up the red carpet into Conseco Fieldhouse.

Four Mousketeers greeted the Mickey, Minnie and their young entourage before whisking them away to an exclusive holiday party atop the stadium grand staircase. Each child had photos taken with Mickey and Minnie Mouse and received keepsake photo-ornament from the decorated holiday tree.

In addition to severe developmental and behavioral challenges, many children at Damar also come from situations of previous abuse and neglect. Opportunities such as Disney On Ice go a long way towards creating positive experiences that the children will always cherish.
