At Damar, we achieve what many cannot — enabling people challenged by autism, mental retardation and other developmental disabilities and related behavioral challenges to live more successful lives.

Such challenges include mental retardation, autism spectrum disorders, traumatic brain injuries, cerebral palsy, chromosomal abnormalities and disorders, Down syndrome, feeding disorders, motor coordination disorders, physical disabilities, sensory integration issues and speech and language disorders, emotional and psychological illnesses and more.

Our Team

Our team of more than 700 human services professionals works collaboratively with families, referring organizations, government agencies and each other to achieve success for our clients. Along with valuable support from more than 1,300 volunteers, we help those we proudly serve develop new skills, a greater sense of confidence — and most importantly — hope.

We pride ourselves on researching, executing and sharing with other professionals the industry best practices for the treatment of those with developmental and behavioral challenges. And our continuum of services enables us to provide the highest quality treatment and support to individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

Our Campus

Damar’s nationally recognized campus is full of tradition and promise for tomorrow. Our legacy began more than 40 years ago on the southwest side of Indianapolis. Generous support from individuals, businesses and community organizations enable us to continue expanding our state-of-the art facilities and enhancing and developing life-changing programs that enable us to fulfill our important mission.

We’re honored by the many awards, rankings, and recognitions we have received in honor of our professionals, programs and facilities. However, we gauge our success by the 96 percent of our clients we have who are living better lives in communities across the nation.
